Towns of South Eastern Spain

Mallorca is an island which is situated just off the coast of Spain and is part of the Balearic islands, many people travel here each year both to holiday and to buy accommodation such as holiday home in Mallorca (vacasol.de.../mallorca.html) for investment purposes.

Almunecar

Almunecar is identified as the capital of the Costa Tropical and forms element with the province of Granada. The Costa Tropical can be a less effectively recognized part from the coastline and is found between the Costa del Sol around the west as well as the Costa de Almeria for the east.

Motril

Motril will be the largest town on the Costa Tropical plus the second largest town within the province of Granada with through 55,000 inhabitants. While Motril is not the most famous tourist destination in Spain, finding a holiday home in Spain here is relatively easy and there are some great beaches nearby.

Motril has a busy commercial port too as a fishing port and a marina. The two major beaches are the Playa Granada as well as the Playa Poniente. Around the coast road to the west from the Playa Poniente is Casa Astrida which is one in the King’s residences. A small further along is the well-known golf course, Los Moriscos.

The production of sugar cane was the major industry inside the area for centuries and there is still a 16th century sugar mill, Casa de Las Palmas.

Salobrena

The previous whitewashed city of Salobrena which is built upon a big rock, has steep, narrow streets which are centred around the 10th Century Moorish castle and the town is surrounded by lush sugar cane fields as well as the last sugar factory in Europe could be identified from the village of La Caleta on the west in the city.

Salobrena has been inhabited for more than 6000 years along with the aged town is lovely with good views of your landscape beyond, if you are able to make the climb to your top of the aged area.

Salobrena has lots of bars, restaurants and tapas on offer and is ideally situated just 45 minutes from Granada and little around an hour towards the Sierra Nevada mountain range so it can also be an perfect location to combine winter sun and skiing.

Mojacar

Mojacar is in the province of Almeria and just 50 minutes drive from Almeria airport. It is an outdated whitewashed mountain village and only a couple of kilometres from the coast. There is a tourist resort just to the south named Mojacar Playa.

It has above 3000 hours of sunshine per year and has practically no winter season at all. Mojacar has retained most of its original character and is household to a Moorish fortress known as El Torreon.

The seashores are the most important attraction to visit the location at the same time as the numerous other picturesque villages to be visited.

Puerto de Mazarron

Puerto de Mazarron is an attractive holiday resort which has been preferred with holidaymakers for quite a few years. Fishing and agriculture are nevertheless the most important industries within the region but the economy is boosted each year by the influx of tourists from the summer. The coastal region of Mazarron has some in the loveliest unspoilt beaches in Spain and gives a peaceful environment for those choosing to vacation here. It is also a common destination for Spanish families inside the peak season but is perfect for a quieter holiday out of season.

There is definitely an attractive promenade which gives access towards the beaches and you can find numerous bars, restaurants and cafes to try.
